Shami kabab is a very very popular non-vegetarian dish. But today I’m going to show you a vegetarian version of it.
two Kashmiri dry red chilies
1 tablespoon of coriander seeds
3 to 4 cardamoms
1 piece of cinnamon
a teaspoon of cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
tablespoon of oil
1 onion finely chopped
one teaspoon of garlic paste
three green chilies finely chopped
some soya granules
chana dal some
Potato boil one
Gram masala powder 3 tbs
mint leaves finely chopped
coriander leaves finely chopped
2 tbsp of gram flour
Salt to taste

Shami kabab is a very very popular non-vegetarian dish. But today I’m going to show you a vegetarian version of it. So let’s see how first to start with dry roasting a few spices for it. so I have two Kashmiri dry red chilies here.

Next to add 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds, 3 to 4 cardamoms, 4 cloves, 1 piece of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds. Let’s roast them till you gather aroma of all the spices. The spices are nicely roasted. And the colors also changed and grind them into a powder, cardamom pods and get the seeds out.

Now let’s pry this into powder also add in 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and keep this masala powder on the site. Let’s starts a few ingredients for the kebab so first to heat one tablespoon of oil, once oil is nice and hot to add in 1 onion finely chopped, also one teaspoon of garlic paste. And add in three green chilies finely chopped.

There are two main ingredients for this kebab. The first one is some gram dal that are soaked for two hours and then. I put a very little oil and pressure cook them drain out all the excess water or moisture that is there in this dal.
The next one is some soya granules have taken half a cup of soya granules to boiling them for 15 minutes. And drain out all the water also lightly squeeze out all the water. Let’s add both these ingredients into the pan saute this till you dry out all the excess moisture this mixture is nicely dried and now to transfer it into the grinder.
Let’s dry this mixture in a coarse paste check this is nicely done even. If there are some leftover granules of some chana dal or soya that’s absolutely fine. And remove this into a bowl you just go to. Add one potato boil and mash into this mixture. So that it pulls everything together and mix it properly with all the other ingredients.
Let’s add the gram masala powder three tablespoons of mint leaves finely chopped three tablespoons of coriander leaves finely chopped 2 tablespoons of gram flour and salt to taste give this. A good mix of this mixture is ready. And now shape the kebabs take a portion of the mixture and make a flat round.
Let’s roll it on the board to smoothen. Out the edges let’s keep it aside in this way let’s roll all the kabobs. The kabobs are ready to be fried so in a pan have kept some oil to heat.
